The chaff we offer is pure alfalfa with added coconut oil. It provides the horses' diet with high-quality protein, fiber, digestible energy (calories), fat and calcium.

The unique process of preparing our chaff includes several stages, to ultimately offer you three groups of ingredients:

- typical alfalfa chaff, i.e. chopped stalks of this valuable plant. The fibrous parts of this plant are highly valued because their composition contains a greater share of digestible fiber than typical hay, providing slow-release energy. Thanks to this, alfalfa is a more concentrated meal in terms of energy.
Fiber also stimulates the digestive system and is a desirable food ingredient that promotes the multiplication of "good" bacteria in the intestines.
This results in improved digestion and increased immunity in horses.

- pellets, i.e. granulated parts of alfalfa, which usually crumble, but are the most valuable. The leaves, buds and small parts of the stems with low fibrosis in typical alfalfa hay are subject to crumbling or blowing away, they can also cause dust and irritate the respiratory system of horses. And it is in them that the most nutritional value is found.

In the preparation process, our alfalfa is first thoroughly sieved from the above-mentioned fractions, the longer and stiffer parts are cut and the small fractions are granulated.

- the chaff is additionally coated with a small amount of coconut oil. Unrefined, cold-pressed coconut oil is a source of slow-release energy.

It is a healthy source of fat, because it consists of medium-chain fatty acids, which are quickly absorbed and easily metabolized.

They are a source of slow-release energy for the body and are not as easily stored as fat tissue as other fats. Coconut oil also does not contain trans fats.
Lauric acid, which is contained in coconut oil and is rarely found in nature, has antiviral, antibacterial and antiprotozoal properties.

The advantages of Nuba Lucern Coco Oil Chaff are high-quality protein, high digestibility of the product, a taste that horses love, a wonderful coconut aroma and its pro-health properties.

Chaff is recommended for:

- working horses - as an additional source of energy and protein

- horses with stomach ulcers - chaff given before work helps prevent gastric acid from splashing into the glandless part of the stomach,

- older horses - highly digestible, with a beneficial composition

- horses that are too thin - ensures weight gain and development of muscle tissue

- nervous horses that have problems maintaining body weight; it helps build mass without causing hyperactivity while supporting optimal blood sugar levels

- breeding horses; foaling mares, nursing mares, young, growing horses

- horses in convalescence

- when the hay given to horses is of poor quality (woody, without green colour, without smell).
