Rice bran with the addition of dried apples can be used as a supplementary feed for all groups of horses and ponies. It is recommended for horses that are too thin, breeding horses and those in training. It works great for horses in convalescence, and when given in the right amount, also for horses with ulcers. The addition of apple gives them a nice smell and improves the taste of the bran, making them more tasty for more demanding horses.
What makes our Nuba Rice & Apple stand out?
- they contain a lower protein and fat content than pure rice bran
- the level of simple sugars and starch is also lower; ESC 8.4%, starch 12.9%
- they have a balanced calcium to phosphorus ratio. Rice bran in its natural form contains a lot of phosphorus and it is necessary to balance it with calcium to be safe for the horse's health. Our product has been supplemented with calcium
- Nuba Rice has been enriched with a small amount of elements most often deficient in the diet of horses; magnesium, copper, zinc, selenium, as well as vitamin E.
This supplement is not a basic supplement, but only an addition that helps rebuild muscle mass.
The basic ingredients of this product are:
Pure rice bran is great for horses that need to build mass, among other things, due to its high protein content. It contains gamma oryzanol, which has a good effect on the construction and regeneration of muscle mass. In addition, it is rich in easily digestible fat from rice oil, which is an excellent source of slowly released energy with a relatively low starch content.
Apple pomace is a source of good quality digestible fiber, so important in the diet of horses. Its characteristic feature is its low protein and starch content. Apple pomace is considered a high-sugar product, but the amount of simple sugars in pomace is reduced compared to fresh apples. It depends on the type of apple, the degree of ripeness, and the method of pressing, but it is usually similar to the amount of simple sugars in beet pulp, which is considered low-sugar.
Apple pomace is characterized by a high content of polyphenols with antioxidant activity, which is why it is considered a valuable source of nutrients and provides health benefits.
They also have a potentially positive effect on the stomach. The pectins contained in them form a gel in the acidic environment of the stomach. In addition, they contain malic acid, which supports metabolism, has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and stimulates the natural production of saliva, which has buffering properties for stomach acids.
Nuba Rice & Apple are granulated and intended for dry administration. In certain situations, they can also be administered wet, for example to older horses with dental problems.
