Description:

This yeast improves the digestibility of feed, as well as its nutritional value and taste.
It has a positive effect on the health of the entire body, and in particular the functioning of the digestive system.
It prevents imbalances in intestinal microflora associated with sudden changes in diet.

Characteristic features of feed yeast:

- high protein content
- natural source of B vitamins
- high content of biologically active compounds, such as β-glucans, mannanoligosaccharides and nucleotides
- has a prebiotic effect, nourishes the bacteria of the digestive system
- increases the digestibility of feed by improving the stability of fiber
- neutralizes mycotoxins
- has a positive effect on the morphological features of the digestive tract mucosa

When to use?

- in horses that are too thin and tend to lose weight
- in horses that have difficulty regaining weight despite using a balanced diet and large doses of feed
- in overly excitable horses that burn out
- in the case of a supply of poor quality hay
- in lactating mares
- in stressful situations
- in the case of appetite problems
- in the case of digestion problems, tendency to diarrhoea, colic
- during a change of feed
- with a probiotic when rebuilding the intestinal bacterial flora after diarrhoea or surgical procedures (marine)
- in the case of a decrease in immunity

The effect of yeast:

Improving digestion - yeast is a natural prebiotic, i.e. food for beneficial bacteria living in the digestive system. In this way, it extends their lifespan
and enables them to multiply. The good condition of the intestinal bacterial flora promotes more effective digestion; decomposition and use of fibre, as well as better synthesis of amino acids.

Stabilisation of pH when feeding large amounts of grains – adverse pH changes in the large intestine occur when feeding large amounts of high-sugar (high-starch) feed. The stomach and intestine are unable to process and properly prepare high-starch components before reaching the large intestine, resulting in undesirable microbiological fermentation. Such fermentation causes the multiplication of lactic acid bacteria, which leads to an unfavourable reduction in the pH of the large intestine. This in turn has a negative impact on the viability of fibre-digesting bacteria (so-called good bacteria). Changes in the pH of the large intestine can cause colic, laminitis and increased gas accumulation when it is taken over by numerous bacteria producing lactate. Studies conducted in Great Britain have shown that in horses fed a diet rich in starch, when fed feed yeast, the level of lactic acid was lower and the pH of the cecum was higher.

Muscle mass – yeast protein provides exogenous amino acids, improving protein absorption and processing. Medium quality protein contained in food such as hay or medium quality feed will be better used in combination with yeast.

Calmness - due to the high content of B vitamins, yeast is considered to have a positive effect on the nervous system and metabolism.

Skin, hair and hoof condition - high protein content with a good amino acid profile and good bioavailability. Amino acids are the building blocks of connective tissue, skin and its products, so the right amount and quality of protein in food can have a positive effect on these areas of the body. In addition, B vitamins, especially biotin, but also vitamin B1, B2, B6 and B12 have an impact on the proper metabolism of the skin and its products.

Appetite - most horses like the taste of yeast, so it can support the consumption of feed in picky eaters. The cause of appetite disorders is often the poor condition of the intestinal bacterial flora
or/and deficiencies of B vitamins. Both of these aspects are improved by yeast supplementation.
